Syrisches Ehepaar erhält nach einer langen Wartezeit eine positive Entscheidung vom BVwG

After a long waiting period Syrian couple receives positive decision from the Federal Asylum Court

In October 2016 a Syrian couple lodged an asylum application. In its decision from August 2017, the Federal Asylum Office (FAO) rejected the application, granted them subsidiary protection und issued them one year residence permits. The FAO argued that the couple fled Syria due to the security situation and did present personal credible threats.

in August 2017. In effect, they appealed the rejection against full asylum to the Federal Asylum Court (FAC). As the court had not had decided within the legally stipulated timeframe, the wife had to file a complaint of lateness to the FAC in November 2018.

Consequently end of November 2018, the court granted the couple full refugee status due to the fact that they would face persecution on asylum grounds upon return to Syria
